Literature

Bearing in mind Russian educational traditions, literature classes are designed to prepare pupils for life as adults. Reading the great classic works of Russian literature develops the intellectual and emotional world of children and teenagers.

However, reading these books is not easy. You have to understand the author’s intentions and imagery. Naturally, this is particularly hard for children and teenagers who live outside the Russian linguistic and cultural environment. Literature lessons for these pupils include methods of linguistic analysis which will help them learn to understand difficult texts with “obscure” words. These methods will help young people in their work on texts in English.
