Visit to Museum of Classical Archaeology at the University of Cambridge

During Easter holidays Clara Balon took a group of our youngest pupils on a tour of Museum of Classical Archaeology at the University of Cambridge.

The main focus of the excursion was to study the history and culture of Ancient Rome and Ancient Greece. Clara Balon acquainted children with many best-loved ancient Greek myths and demonstrated what their characters - mythical gods and heroes – looked like. Children learned how ancient Greek sculptors depicted their gods and heroes, so that any of their contemporaries could easily identify the statues. Children observed the sculptures of the famous Roman emperors, and learned about Roman history.
